Welcome to the Lynn AmeriCorps Program

The United Way's Lynn AmeriCorps program deploys 15 AmeriCorps members across Lynn public schools and community based non-profit agencies. The Lynn AmeriCorps team provides key support services, ensuring a holistic approach throughout the community to reduce barriers to success for immigrant children and their families, with the overall goal of reducing the dropout rate among these populations in Lynn.

Why the Lynn AmeriCorps Program?

Like many cities and towns across the United States, Lynn is working to build a strong community with many of it's new residents immigrating from Central and South America. Every family and child deserves the right to succeed in America. The Lynn AmeriCorps program provides members with a unique opportunity to provide direct service to students and families, while also focusing on collaboration and the holistic impact that service can have in a community. Through the Lynn AmeriCorps program, members gain a wide range of experience from tutoring and mentoring, to non-profit management and program operations. In addition to 10 months of service in Lynn, members benefit from broad access to the United Way's network in the region, as well as professional development and training that helps set them up for success after their service year is complete.
