Celebrating civic engagement: United Way forum

BOSTON -- As part of its celebration of National Volunteer Week (April 17-23), United Way of Massachusetts Bay and the Corporate Volunteer Council of Greater Boston are sponsoring a forum designed to foster more partnerships between local companies and nonprofits. The “Corporate Volunteerism Today” forum – set for Wednesday, April 20 – will bring leaders from non-profit organizations and local corporations together to discuss innovative strategies for engaging corporate volunteers and showcases innovative partnerships. Corporations, City of Boston unite to grow minority businesses

BOSTON -- In a first for the region, a coalition of corporations, institutions and the City of Boston are funding a major new initiative, called Initiative for a New Economy, to expand business between local minority-owned businesses and large corporations.  read more »

United Way of Mass Bay hosts ePhilanthropy Training

BOSTON -- United Way of Massachusetts Bay (UWMB) will host the ePhilanthropy Foundation’s 2005 Internet Strategies eTour training seminar from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at the United Way, 245 Summer St., 14th Floor Auditorium, Boston. The effort is part of UWMB’s commitment to effecting systemic change in the issues facing the community by fostering the growth of the nonprofit sector and strengthening the agencies that are on the front lines.  read more »

United Way $$$ kick-starts youth recreation programs
