COUNTDOWN TO KINDERGARTEN EXHIBIT OPENS AT BOSTON CHILDREN'S MUSEUM

BOSTON - September 1, 2010 - Boston Children's Museum is excited to announce the opening of its newest permanent exhibit, Countdown to Kindergarten.  This school readiness exhibit, created by Boston Children's Museum, is sponsored by The Institute of Museum and Library Services with matching funds from Jane's Trust, The Barr Foundation, The Lincoln & Terese Filene Foundation, State Street Corporation and United Way of Massachusetts Bay. BOSTON - Despite the high marks that Massachusetts earns for education overall, the Commonwealth is last on a list of states ranked on the basis of well-being for children in low-income families. Boston- An innovative, new funding partnership has been established by the Boston Foundation, Boston LISC, the Hyams Foundation, and United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley and managed by the Nonprofit Finance Fund. Governor Patrick Proclaims September 15 Statewide United Way Day of Caring

15,000 United Way Volunteers help out through 350 projects

Boston - On September 15, nearly 15,000 employees across the state will set aside their standard to-do lists and take to the community to participate in United Way's Day of Caring, an effort to advance the common good through single-day projects while fostering long-term volunteer engagement.
