MLH Scholars

Launched by United Way and Junior Achievement of Eastern Massachusetts, Inc., the Marian L. Heard Scholars Program is a opportunity for high school students to explore the world of business and entrepreneurship, college admissions, culture and the arts.  The two-year program provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, to build relationships, and to have access to leaders in the Greater Boston community.

Each year, ten students, finishing their sophomore year of high school, will be accepted to the program in the spring.  The program begins in the fall of their Junior Year and continues for two years.

Upon graduation from high school and completion of the two-year program, participating students receive a $5,000 scholarship to assist with college or career advancement. Students must remain in the program for two years and have at least 80% attendance in order to receive the $5,000 scholarship.

Applications for 2009 are due May 18.
