Igniting a spark...

The Math, Science and Technology initiative is a collaboration aimed at helping kids foster a lifelong curiosity in the sciences and to prepare young people for rewarding careers in math, science and technology-related fields.
This program targets youth through an after-school curriculum that includes experimentation, demonstrations, and other engaging educational experiences. It currently serves nearly 600 students in 33 science clubs grades K – 9, ages 5 through 14-years-old
By combining real-life experiences with industry speakers, hands-on learning, trips into the community, and volunteering, the students learn much more than science. They learn about the habits of scientific thinking.
This work is meant to introduce kids to careers in the sciences, but it is also an investment in the economic future of Massachusetts. To remain a robust, technology-rich state, and an international leader in scientific discovery and healthcare delivery, programs such as MSTi ensure we retain and grow the human capital necessary to remain on top.
